Thai Purple Podded Bean

Vigna unguiculata sesquipidalis
A heirloom Thai yard long bean variety. This is the purple version of Asparagus bean that is high yielding, quick growing, and very productive. The vines produce beautiful deep purple pods with green tips and grow up to 20″ long. Good trellis support required. The beans are delicious and stay crisp and tender, work really well in stir fries. Traditionally they are braided or tied into knots before cooking.
